Intro to light

I am really thankful that Johnny came and spoke, I learned a lot about light. Although I'm not good with posing people, I will try to get better at that.

I learned that you want to start with the primary light to find a consistent set up that is pleasurable when looking at the picture. When the primary light is closer to the subject, it softens the lines and the shadows. We must be willing to experiment. Once the primary light is stable, then experiment with the fill light.

Photography Terms

1. Landscape and city scape: The wild life and isolation brings out the creation of God. And the exciting life of the city gives me a chill.

2. Aperture affects the light and depth of field. The lower the aperture, the lower the opening of the lens; the high the aperture, the larger the lens, which lets in more light

3. ISO determines how sensitive the camera is to incoming light

4. A camera's shutter speed determines when the camera sensor will be open or closed to incoming light. (How long light is permitted to enter the camera)

5. ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed: One can therefore use many combinations of the above three settings to achieve the same exposure. The key, however, is knowing which trade-offs to make, since each setting also influences other image properties.

6. DOF is controlled by the aperture

7. Shutter-Priority manually controls shutter-speed, while camera sets aperture
Aperture-Priority manually controls Aperture, while camera controls shutter-speed
