q2w2-Architectural Photography

Trey Ratcliff
This photograph seems to be too centered. Other than that, very beautiful. Seems like a giant pipe organ

Paul Hocksenar
Lines Lines Lines. The engineering of this building is so complex. There is no Focal point, which makes it more dramatic.
Lou Bueno
The vanishing point of the lines kinda annoys my eyes. How the focal point is a little contorded brings life and question to the photograph. What type of life is in the city?
Henry Jones
This seems like an electric staircase in either an air port or some type of mall. The blurry background brings suspense.

Henry Jones
This Photograph is juxtaposed epically. It is so vibrant and artistic. The focal point is that long bar in the middle which leads to a swirl.

Q2W1 - Landscape Photographers.

I love how the Juxtaposition between the grey mountain, the blue clouds, and white snow. The top of the mountain seems to get in the way however; maybe more towards the right.
This pictures really brings out Alaska's Beauty. The hortizon line is maybe too much in the center. The sun how it seems to point right out the antlers is prodigious.

Patrick Endres

Living in Alaska for nearly 30 years having a passion for the landscape, Patrick does the majority of his work in this State. He has captured about 30,000 images in last few decades. These photos represent his journey through Alaska.

W10-Landscape Locations

I want to go take pictures of Mount Bacherlor, 3 finger Jack, 3 sisters, Hood. I will probably take a road trip to get at least 2 mountains. I was also thinking about the grass land of Oregon. Grass lands can be either medium shots to long. For mountains, I would say anything from a long shot, to an extreme long shot.

Week 7 summary

We discussed the 5 photos we took individually. Going over what was good about the picture, and what could be better for next time. I am finally developing a hand for Aperture and Shutter Speed. It is going to be interesting to see how the class critics my pictures.

Must Be Converging lines

I resized this image to be smaller by using free transform. I then used tonal levels to change the brightness so you could see the clouds more in depth as well as the bridge, and to make the grass look greener.

  • Photography captures; painting interpretation.
  • Foreground: Closest part of picture, Middle ground: Middle part of picture, background: furthest part of picture
  • Tonal: distinction of colors
  • Juxtaposition: Taking 2 elements that are different that can be compared.
  • Geometric shapes: basic; Organic: shapes contained in nature (free formed)
  • Aperture: Control amount of life permitted through the center of camera
  • Higher aperture, the smaller the opening. The lower aperture, the higher opening.

Week 2-What I learned

We have talked about learning how to articulate so pictures do not look choppy. How to set up blogs and reader and goole docs. About taking pictures we learned about different types of shots: Extreme shot, medium, close up, High Angle, Low angle.

Week going by fast! I joined Advance Placement calculus, I'm really excited! Stressed out about senior project.
